The Ghost X MPLS tactical headlamp from Princeton Tec, featuring various mounting options. It has a total of five LEDs, divided into three separate sections. The user can illuminate the area with white, red, green, blue, or infrared (IR) light. The flashlight’s polymer housing is sealed, making it IP68-rated.
Mounting options include a standard flexible headlamp strap, a clip for MOLLE mounting, an NVG Shroud helmet mount, and an ARC Mount. This means the flashlight can be conveniently carried in a hiking backpack or mounted on the MOLLE webbing of a tactical vest. The flashlight’s white light can produce a beam with an output of up to 300 lumens and a range of up to 102 meters.
The flashlight is operated using a single button on top of the housing, along with a lever to switch to IR mode. By default, single clicks cycle through the settings. Holding down the button in a given mode smoothly adjusts its intensity. Moving the lever on the side of the housing switches the flashlight to Ghost mode, in which only the IR light is controlled.
Holding the button for 3 seconds while the flashlight is off activates a lock to prevent accidental activation. Holding the button for 8 seconds allows you to switch the light color from the default red to green or blue. The Multi-Fuel system allows you to use a single CR123 battery, AA battery, or rechargeable AA battery for power.
