A true classic of Russian design, the Makarov was the Soviet Union's standard military side arm from 1951-1991. The Makarov pistol, fundamentally an enlarged Walther PP, resulted from a design competition for replacing the Tokarev TT-33. This Airsoft pistol doesn't not completely take after its real steel counterpart as it does look modern.
There are two reasons for as to why it looks modern. First of all, the grip is rather ergonomic as it seems to suit a more competitive style of shooting which feels very comfortable in either hand, meaning that it is ambidextrous. Other than that, no other feature follows suit as the slide lock and de-cocker are on the left side of the Makarov. The second reason is that it also comes with a mock suppressor and a extended inner barrel.
One may wonder why they're separate but this is a good thing as someone may want to add the suppressor without increasing the power. It all depends on what the user wants. The extended inner barrel will increase the fps from 280 to 370 which is a massive jump making it more suited to outdoor skirmishes. If you want to lower the power, just remove the extended inner barrel as a lot of indoor skirmishing arenas may not allow anything shooting over 330 fps.
So what we have here is a replica that is suited to both indoor and outdoor games. It's rather snappy each trigger pull though shots BBs will start to waver from left to right after the 20 meter mark. What you have to remember is that the WE Makarov is a pistol, not rifle.
